Re: Hutters United! meetings

Hi Jennifer, Daytimes would suit me better but happy to support Evening meet when I can, particularly if there are is anyone wishing to 'pick my brains'.. or what's left of them !.. about 'Hut life'. I'm not into 'planning regs' etc. in any way (being a squatter!) and 'new' land purchase is beyond m...

Re: Help needed to design and build a hut

Hello Lucie, I'll be only too happy to help you out in any way I can. I'm very familiar with where you are. Have camped at the end of Loch Rannoch over many years, open canoed the upper lochs (until lifting the canoe over the gates became a bit too arduous, on my own!) And Stayed in the old Railway ...

Re: Cooking

Hi, certainly an interesting development, very functional too. I'm just wondering about the availability of fuel supplies in the Uk. I had trouble years ago getting 'white gas' for a Coleman stove I brought back from the USA.......................before they became UK popular. I use both butane and ...

Re: I'm Karen

Hi Karen, I agree with you. Trying to stimulate interest in the Forum is hard going. So much very useful information is getting buried in the Facebook entries... Lost to Newcomers........... I'm wondering if it's possible to take 'extracts' (Cut'n paste'(?)from Facebook and re-post in the Forum unde...

Re: Cooking

Hi, a good idea for the 'casual' user. From the sounds of it they operate/run on the same principle as the Trangia Spirit Stoves which are very efficient (use them for years, camping etc). I presume all stainless steel (maybe some aluminium ?) which is very easy to clean.. ... Fuel easy to transport...

Re: Building Regulations and Huts

Hi, Sorry, I don't get it!!... Building Regs for Huts... ! They're supposed to be what it says on the tin.... 'HUTS'. Surely the limitations must be as minimalistic as possible otherwise they'll end up being unaffordable and the efforts to promote 'Hutting' will never happen. As you were on the 'Con...

Hutter's Rally 2016. BBC OOD broadcast

Hi, Just thought I'd try and spread the word from the most recent Hutter's Rally this year 2016... !! This is a copy of the BBC Radio Scotland, Out Of Doors outside broadcast, just the first 30mins or so covering the interviews made at the time etc....... I'm sure many may well not have known of it ...

Re: Hut for Use, trial?.. taster of "The Good Life" !!!!!

Hi Jennifer, you're welcome. I was over last week, (for a funeral !, Old Mountain Bothys mate.....) didn't get enough done so still a work in progress. Hut still in use but a bit too 'rough and ready!' for the likes of yourself at the moment I would think. Will be fine for spring next year.. I don't...
