Loubcroy Estate - a possible large scale reforesting project

Postby TomMoon » 23 Mar 2017, 13:28

Hello, I'd like to ask forum members for their advice about the idea of trying to obtain and reforest a large area of land for sale as part of Loubcroy Estate.

http://www.knightfrank.co.uk/properties ... /edn160111

Lot 1 of the estate is 7,500 acres of hill and rough grazing, and is being sold for £775,000. At a little over £100 an acre this seems like an amazing (but thoroughly daunting) opportunity to create new woodland on a large scale.

What do people think of the idea, what would be the best approach to reforesting such a large area, and what level of support would groups like Reforesting Scotland be able to provide for such an undertaking?
